NOVEMBER 14th & 15th
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!
The Good!  (Drexel vs. Stony Brook)
Friday, November 14th

Looking to knock off a second top 25 team in consecutive weekends, Drexel traveled to Long Island Sunday to face the Stony Brook Sea Wolves.  The Sea Wolves dominated a scoreless first period, out skating and out shooting Drexel 17-11.  Although Stony Brook continued to carry play in the second, Drexel scored first at the 7:58 mark.  Kevin McMahon (Who?) did a “Tommy” imitation by pinballing a backhander off two Stony Brook bumpers to give Drexel a 1-0 lead.  On the power play, Kevin Thren (Allatt and Lawrie) buried a rebound into an open right net to give Drexel a 2-0 lead.

Stony Brook came back to tie the game with two quick goals in the beginning of the third period.  Stony Brook continued to out shoot Drexel, and could not get a shot past goalie Dan Pyne.  The third period ended with a tie.

In the 5 minute, 4 on 4 overtime, Drexel out shot Stony Brook 6-4, and appeared to have the game winner.  Armstrong and Cohen combined for some razzle-dazzle in front of the net getting the puck past the Stony Brook goalie, only to have the puck come to a stop on the goal line.

I
n the Shoot Out, Stony Brook prevailed, 3-2, with Lawrie and Allatt scoring for Drexel. A grand effort, just short of a victory.

The Bad...  (Drexel vs. Villanova)
Saturday, November 15th

Drexel lost to Villanova 6-4.  After going up 2-1 in the first on goals from Bruno Petrillo (Cohen, Buklarewicz) and Adrian Allatt (Lawrie, Cohen) on a power play, and 3-1 in the second with a goal by Tom Buklarewicz (Allatt, Cohen), Drexel collapsed in the third period.  Villanova scored 5 times on two power play goals, a deflection, and a bad change to win the game.  Lawrie added one more goal for Drexel as Cohen picked up his fourth assist for the night.

The Ugly!

No lifeguard was on duty Saturday as the first two periods were played in standing water.
