Drexel Drops Two to URI
Drexel vs. University of Rhode Island
Friday October 17th & Saturday, October 18th

Drexel traveled to Rhode Island this past weekend to take on the 7th ranked Rams.  Drexel lost game one 4-3.  URI opened the scoring in the 9 minute mark.  Zak Blazic tied the game in the 12th minute with a power play goal with assists from Bruno Petrillo and Kyle Zoldy.  URI rebounded in the second period and third periods to lead 4-1. Drexel cut the margin to 4-3 with two power play goals scored by Petrillo and Andrew Lawrie with assists from Blazic and Alex Cohen on both goals.  However URI tightened its defense and hung on to win. Drexel goalie Dan Pyne was outstanding in net stopping 34 of URI’s 38 shots, making great save after great save.

In game two Pyne continued his spectacular weekend stopping 45 of URI’s 48 shots on goal.  Unfortunately URI shut down Drexel’s offense in posting 3-0 victory.
